The route follow a clover leaf format with each day’s start & finish from the same venue in McGregor. The route offers challenge and reward for experienced riders as well as weekend warriors and riders looking to attempt their first MTB stage race.
Daily Route consists of:
30% - Open gravel roads or jeep tracks, with a good combination of flat, rolling hills and one or two steeper climbs.
70% Amazing single track or cattle paths. The terrain is mostly hard rock formation and few loose gravel sections. (No crazy stuff, just mother nature providing us with some fun tracks and trails!)
(Note: Riders looking to attempt their first stage race do not mean new to mountain biking in general. Riders need to have some mountain biking experience and have done a 40km MTB race or more!)
MTB SHORT ROUTE
Beginner - Intermediate
Experience the stunning views of the McGregor hills. This version is a shorter more relaxing route with cut corners. We invite cyclists to join the adventure while breathing in the fresh air of this beautiful valley.
Riders looking to do their first stage race need to have some mountain biking experience and have done a 40km MTB race or more! Expect a terrain with mostly hard rock formation and few loose gravel sections.
MTB LONG ROUTE
Intermediate - Expert
Gear up for the ultimate cycling experience! Test your stamina in the breathtaking McGregor surroundings. This route offers a challenge for experienced riders as well as weekend warriors.
Remember, although the race is aimed at all rider skill levels, the nature of mountain biking is that there will always be one or two obstacles that cannot be accounted for. This all part of the experience of exploring the mountains and valleys with your bike, soaking up views you don’t get to see every day.
